Cellulosic bioethanol and  rayon manufacturing have  hemi-cellulose as a fraction in the liquid stream. The hemi-cellulose needs to be removed  from either aqeous streams or from caustic solution.  In Rayon manufacturing the increased hemicellulose causes defects, breaks in yarn, and also quality issues. By reducing the Hemicellulose in the recycled caustic solution the yarn making process is improved. Hemicellulose isolation also makes it a raw material for other biochemical synthesis

The caustic solution in a rayon plant is re-cycled using proprietary membranes with high recovery of the caustic solution. Poresep Membrine technology removes upto 80-90% Hemi-cellulose from the solution.
The process serves two purposes, recover Caustic Solution back into the process and  remove Hemi-cellulose from the Caustic solution.

Process Operations
Poresep Membrine process is operated at nominal pressures and the separation takes due to molecular size on a ionic level. Due to the physical weight/size of impurities (insolubles) compared to the soluble caustic brine, the impurities simply get rejected on the membrane surface.
Proper clarification and pre-treatment has to be done before the separation can take place. This is part of the Poresep design and the customer gets complete solution including process automation and non-stop working system. The conductivity, temperature, pressure and pH control can be maintained by online monitoring on the HMI or SCADA system can be provided integrating with your existing plant automation.
The system comprises of suitable feed pumps, Booster pumps to operate the system at desired pressure. Pre‐filtration systems, membrane set up with housings, CIP system comprising of CIP tank, dosing tank , instruments , pipes and fittings and electrical control panel with PLC, VFD , HMI with adequate cables , electrical fittings .
The measuring systems consisting of Flow Transmitter, Pressure transmitter, Temperature Transmitter, Level Transmitter and conductivity Transmitter etc, enable efficient PLC control and other parameters for logging.
